A PURPOSEFUL THOUGHT IS BREAKFAST FOR YOUR BRAIN

It's subtle, but it changes everything.

Imagine you're standing in a forest.

Fear is like following the same narrow path over and over. The more you walk it, the clearer it becomes.

Forced positive thinking is like standing on that same path saying,

" There isn't a path"

Your brain replies,

"Yes there is. I'm standing on it"

A purposeful thought says,

" I can see the path...but today I'm going to take one small step into another direction

That's how new neural pathways begin—not with pretending, but with choosing.

Forced Positivity

Purposeful Thinking

Denies feelings.

Acknowledges feelings.

Wants to feel better immediately.

Wants to move forward wisely.

Tries to change emotions.

Chooses the next action.

Can feel fake.

Feels believable.

Focuses on the destination.

Focuses on the next step.

Asks, "How can I be happy?"

Asks, "What will help me now?"

How to do it...

Take 20 isn't about finding a positive thought. (Aware, breath, purposeful thought - only 20 sec)

It's about finding your next purposeful thought.

  • One that is true

  • One that is kind.

  • One that moves you forward.
